Having the Conversation
SentryTell makes aging in place safe and predictable.
Aging in place is a common desire for seniors. Ongoing active management by the entire caregiver team makes this safe and predictable.
Get StartedCommunicate Concerns Early.
One of the most difficult things to do is to talk to your loved one about aging issues and changes that may need to happen. How will they respond when they feel like they are losing some of their independence? It’s important to communicate your concerns early, without making them defensive.
As you prepare to talk to your loved one, think about how you would want to be treated. It doesn’t need to be a sit-down, major confrontation. It is often best to have frequent brief comments and conversations about the aging process and about the increasing level of care that’s required over time. If it makes sense to do so, you should emphasize your desire to keep them in their own home as long as possible. This is a good time to talk to them about SentryTell.
SentryTell Keeps Your Senior Safe, Without Intruding.
SentryTell is an easy way for everyone to be aware of your loved one’s activities when you’re not there. It is designed to tell you, the caregiver, if an unusual event or unusual activity occurs in your senior's home. Otherwise, nothing else changes for the senior and they are still able to live safely in their own home. We've devoted a section of this website just for the senior to learn more about SentryTell. See our "For Seniors" page for more!
